The most versatile solution for mounting Preston Single Channel units. 3D printed cradles aren't secure - hand units bounce can around during moves. Other brackets we’ve found require you to undo and replace screws from the hand unit. This sucks for short-term jobs (who wants to undo all those little screws just to put them back in a few hours later?), and those screws are likely to get lost on longer jobs.
Our bracket works by simply clamping down on the top of the hand unit. The clamp screw is spring-loaded, so it holds securely even when it’s finger-tight. For extra security, you can use a hex key to really lock it in. The back of the bracket is positively covered in an Arri-compatible mounting pattern, with both 3/8”-16 and 1/4”-20 mounting points and their accompanying anti-rotation pin sockets. The bottom of the bracket features a passthrough slot, so that keyring and neck straps can stay attached while mounted, for easy run and gun pickup.
The unit is now machined from aluminum (new for 2025, no more 3D printed brackets!), and anodized black. The clamping arm will be available anodized in various vibrant colors for color-coding various cameras. Custom colors are also available, please let me know if you need something specific.
